Autumn Adventure

I suppose it's time we made an official announcement, considering we leave in less than a week ...

We're going to Beijing! For three months!

With Shawn on parental leave and me part of the remote workforce, we realized we could take an extended vacation this fall, and China was our first destination of choice. Our past two-week trips just haven't been long enough, and we want to get a better sense of the country where our children were born. So we're headed back to spend more time there.

We're renting an apartment in Beijing, and we hope to do a few trips as well. Lia's city of Yingtan is on the list, and possibly Hong Kong and Guilin. Shawn will look after the kids and I'll do some contract work and writing. We might find a preschool for Lia. Other than that, our plans are pretty loose.

We are still looking for a cat-sitter, so if anyone in Ottawa with a pet-free, child-free household who isn't allergic would like to take on our spitfire Samantha, please get in touch! We'll be away from September 6 to November 30.

No doubt we'll be posting more often during our trip, so stay tuned!
